PARENTS: RELATIVITY WORKSHOP WORKSHOPS ARCHIVE =============================================================================== FIELD / SPACE and ACTION / REACTION ----------------------------------- =============================================================================== Newton's Model lacks consistency between Law of Gravity and Law of Action and Reaction. Indeed, while Space (distance) acts on Gravity Force, Gravity does in no way act on Space. In more contemporary terms: In Newton's Model Space determines Field, but Field does not affect Space. Newton was aware of this inconsistency and unhappy about it. Einstein succeeded in overcoming this inconsistency and conceiving relation between Field and Space compatible with the Law of Action and Reaction. He admired Newton and wrote in a letter that conciliating these two fundamental Newton's Laws gave him one of the greatest satisfactions of his life. What did he mean exactly? =============================================================================== PARENTS: RELATIVITY WORKSHOP WORKSHOPS ARCHIVE
